The Tamborine is a boutique hotel in Queensland’s hinterland, with panoramic views of the subtropical rainforest. Reimagined from a 1978 Hacienda-style motel into a sophisticated European-meets-Palm Springs sanctuary, the hotel preserves the original charming Spanish-colonial hacienda shell, blending nostalgic 1980s motel character with contemporary whitewashed elegance.
The design intent was to maintain as much of the original architecture as possible. The focus was on sustainable materials, and partnering with eco-conscious suppliers such as Faucet Strommen.
The interiors utilise a calm, neutral palette of elegant timber, beige, and white features, complemented by sustainable Queensland plywood and Pegasi tapware in Antique Brass Light.
