Types of Mixer Taps

Faucet Strommen mixer taps are built from UltraBrass our proprietary lead-free copper alloy that goes beyond Australian compliance standards, which still permit trace amounts of lead in standard brass. Every component that contacts drinking water is produced from this non-toxic, high-performance material, which also carries natural antimicrobial properties to reduce pathogen build-up in your water lines.

All mixer taps are built with rock-solid mounting systems and backed by our 40-year warranty on internal components, with finishes also covered by our 40-year finish warranty.

All finishes are hand-applied at our Kerang facility and backed by our 40-year finish warranty. Yes. All mixer taps comply with Australia’s Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) scheme. The WELS rating and flow rate in litres per minute are displayed on each product listing, ensuring straightforward compliance for builders, plumbers, and homeowners.

A pull-out mixer features a spray head that extends horizontally, offering excellent lateral reach across wide or double-bowl sinks. A pull-down mixer pulls downward in a high-arch chef-style action, suited to deep single bowls and kitchens where a tall, architectural spout is part of the design. Both are fitted with the S-Flex™ hose and Strommglide™ PTFE Runway as standard.

A tall basin mixer has an elevated spout height designed specifically to pair with above-counter or vessel basins, providing necessary clearance between the tap and basin rim. For inset or under-counter basins, a standard basin mixer is the correct choice.

A wall mixer tap is plumbed directly into the wall rather than through the basin, sink, or bath deck. It creates a clean, minimal aesthetic by removing all hardware from the benchtop or ledge. Wall mixers are available for basins, showers, and baths across several Faucet Strommen collections.

For a contemporary or minimalist interior, Pegasi or Zero are the natural starting points. For a bold architectural space, Zeos makes a strong statement. For heritage or transitional interiors, Cascade or Chisel D offer the right balance of classic form and modern engineering.
